What a day!

We are in our third week of homeschooling, classes have started at our charter school and the kids are ready to start resisting!!! Today was tough, but we got through it. I think I need to re-examine my rhythm, my ability to get out of bed in the morning, and my patience most of all!

Today we continued our study of Botany for my daughter and The Quality of Numbers for my son. My son was so excited about the work he has done this week he asked me to copy it on the scanner so he could put it up in his room! That's progress.

I bought an Australian Tree Fern yesteday and we studied ferns and horsetail today. Both children were amazed at how the fern fronds uncurled. I think their curiosity was peaked! Next week we will begin doing some work on drawing plants.

My daughter has chosen a "tree friend" and at least once a week she goes outside and writes about or draws her tree. I hope to keep this going all year long so she can see the changes and appreciate what the seasons mean to her tree.

The day didn't begin the way I wanted, nor was it easy to stay on track (like herding cats) but all in all we got a lot done. Most of all I am glad it's the weekend tomorrow!
